- Ventilation performance: Plain metal ceiling tiles have poor ventilation performance because they have no holes. In contrast, perforated metal ceiling tiles, thanks to their perforated design on the surface, allow air to flow smoothly and have good ventilation effects. This helps regulate the indoor air circulation and keeps the air fresh, especially suitable for places with high ventilation requirements like shopping malls, factories, and gymnasiums.
- Sound absorption effect: Perforated metal ceiling tiles can absorb and reflect sound to some extent, playing a role in sound absorption and noise reduction. When sound passes through the holes, it will be scattered and absorbed, reducing sound reflection and transmission, thus lowering the indoor noise level and creating a relatively quiet environment. Comparatively, plain metal ceiling tiles are relatively weaker in terms of sound absorption effect.

Installation Methods
- Plain metal ceiling tiles: Their installation method is relatively simple and straightforward. Generally, a keel suspension system is used, and the tiles are directly fixed onto the keel. Due to their flat surfaces, the installed ceiling surface will also be relatively flat, with the joints fitting tightly, and the overall effect is aesthetically pleasing.
- Perforated metal ceiling tiles: Their installation method is similar to that of plain metal ceiling tiles. However, special attention needs to be paid to the alignment and splicing of the perforations to ensure that the patterns and holes on the ceiling surface are arranged neatly. Under some special installation requirements, additional fixing measures may be needed to ensure the stability and safety of the perforated metal ceiling tiles.
Maintenance
- Cleaning difficulty: Plain metal ceiling tiles have smooth surfaces and are relatively easy to clean. You only need to wipe them with a damp cloth to remove dust and stains on the surface. However, since perforated metal ceiling tiles have holes on their surfaces, more careful cleaning is required during the cleaning process to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating inside the holes. Small cleaning tools or compressed air can be used for cleaning.
- Durability: Under normal usage conditions, both have relatively good durability. However, because perforated metal ceiling tiles have perforations on their surfaces, during long-term use, factors such as air humidity and dust may cause slight oxidation or corrosion at the edges of the holes. Therefore, in some special environments, additional anti-corrosion treatment or regular maintenance may be required for perforated metal ceiling tiles to extend their service life.
